Job summary

E4A Solutions is seeking a Substation Relay Technician to support safe, reliable substation operations. You will install, test, calibrate, and repair protective relays, review settings, and develop procedures for commissioning and maintenance.

Role requires hands-on testing, relay software use, and coordination with vendors. Must read schematics, follow NEC/NESC/OSHA standards, and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical/electronic sciences preferred or equivalent training.
• Completion of a Substation or Relay Testing Apprentice Program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in substation environment; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience with protective relays 480V–345kV and brands (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens).
• Proficiency in relay test software and SCADA communications.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment in substations.
• Perform functional testing on control circuits for relay panels and breakers.
• Develop relay macros and testing routines to verify protection schemes.
• Lead safety briefings and maintain strong safety culture on job sites.
