Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to perform and supervise electrical testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of protection relays in power substations.

You will operate relay test equipment and tools to test various relay types inside substations, ensuring compliance with client standards. You will lead safety briefings, coordinate with customers, and drive project execution from commissioning to energization.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background check satisfactory.
• Willing to work overtime and travel as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job sites and mitigate hazards.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Install, commission, test and run functions on relay panels and change-outs.
• Analyze event records and make informed deductions.
• Develop project execution, commissioning, outages, and energization procedures.
• Lead project execution and interface with customers.
