Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Relay Field Technician II to support testing, commissioning, and maintenance of substation protection and control systems in field environments. You will operate relay test equipment, interpret One Line diagrams, and ensure reliable communications across protection schemes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electrical tech or system protection.
• Minimum 1 year commissioning, panel/equipment checkout and relay testing.
• Able to read electrical diagrams and wiring schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support acceptance testing and maintenance of substation equipment and relays.
• Interpret designs, connect AC/DC circuits, and perform wiring as required.
• Conduct IED testing and use automated test sets for protection schemes.
• Troubleshoot test results and ensure proper inter-device communications.
• Perform site safety inspections and document management duties.
