Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Protection and Control Engineer to lead the Substation P&C design for large-scale renewables projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and drafters to ensure coordinated, code-compliant deliverables and interface with SCADA and relay settings teams. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years in HV substation P&C design, plus strong communication skills and knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEC/NESC/NERC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• 4+ years of experience in high voltage substation P&C design.
• Strong knowledge of substation zones of protection.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NERC.
• Experience with relay settings and protection device coordination.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of P&C design for HV and EHV substations (4kV–230kV and above).
• Develops project drawings: one-lines, three-lines, schematics, BOMs, and enclosures.
• Conducts studies: load calculations, transformer sizing, CT calculations, voltage drop, cable sizing.
