Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Protection and Control Engineer to join our Renewables Substation team.

Lead the Substation P&C engineering and design efforts for large-scale, transmission-interconnected renewable projects, coordinating with relay, SCADA, and civil teams to ensure consistent, code-compliant designs. The role requires a BS in electrical engineering and 4+ years of high voltage substation P&C experience with strong knowledge of protection schemes and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program
• 4+ years work experience in high voltage substation P&C design
• Strong knowledge of substation zones of protection
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NERC standards and codes

Responsibilities

• Lead P&C design for HV (4 kV – 230 kV) and EHV (>230 kV) substation projects
• Develop project drawings: one-lines, three-lines, schematics, relay panels and BOMs
• Prepare studies and calculations: load, transformer sizing, CT saturation, voltage drop
• Review vendor submittals and ensure conformance to specs
• Coordinate with Substation Project Engineer and other discipline leads
• Attend project meetings and support procurement/construction tasks
