Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Protection and Control Engineer to join our Renewables Substation team.

The role leads P&C engineering and design for large-scale, transmission-interconnected renewable projects, coordinating with other engineers and drafters to deliver compliant, high-quality designs. The candidate will work with the Substation Project Engineer and discipline leads to ensure documents are coordinated across electrical, civil, relay, and SCADA teams,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• 4+ years of HV substation P&C design experience.
• Knowledge of substation protection zones and coordination.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NERC.

Responsibilities

• Development of all project drawings, one-lines and three-lines.
• AC/DC schematics and relay panel elevation drawings.
• Transformer sizing and load/voltage calculations.
• Review vendor submittals for conformance with specs.
• Cross-discipline checks with substation/service leads and meetings.
• Procurement and construction support tasks.
