Job summary

Westwood Professional Services is seeking a mid-level Protection and Control Engineer to join our Renewables Substation team. You will lead P&C design efforts for large-scale, transmission-interconnected renewable energy projects, directing engineers, designers, and drafters to produce compliant deliverables across multiple disciplines.

You will work with the Substation Project Engineer to ensure coordination among Electrical, Civil/Structural, Relay Settings, and SCADA teams, applying ANSI,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
4+ years work experience in high voltage substation P&C design
Strong knowledge of substation zones of protection
Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NERC standards

Responsibilities

Lead P&C design for HV (4kV–230kV) and EHV projects
Develop project drawings including one-lines and three-lines
Prepare AC/DC schematics, relay panel elevations, and BOMs
Create control enclosure layouts and wiring diagrams
Review equipment vendor submittals for conformance with specs
Coordinate with Substation Project Engineer and other discipline leads
Attend project meetings and assist with procurement and construction support
