Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a substation protection and control design engineer to provide design, engineering support, and technical leadership for transmission substation projects, including battery energy storage systems and solar substations. You will apply protection concepts and SCADA design to deliver safe, cost-effective engineering solutions.

You will design protection schemes for substations and lines, perform coordination studies, fault current calculations, and insulation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an ABET/EAC accredited Engineering Program or approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES
0 to 2 years' experience as a practicing engineer
Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles

Responsibilities

Design protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment (bus, line, capacitor, transformer protection)
Perform studies and create reports for coordination, fault current, and insulation coordination
Understand SCADA communication design and integrate with protection schemes
Visit sites to advise on P&C engineering issues and modify designs during construction
Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure accuracy and adherence to customer standards
