Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead substation projects across the full lifecycle, from scope and proposals through closeout. You will mentor engineers, manage schedules and budgets, and collaborate with design teams and clients to deliver high-quality power delivery solutions.

Ideal candidates have a PE/FE or PMP, strong communication, and at least 7 years of related experience, with a background in electrical power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 7 years related experience
• 2 years project management experience
• Must interact with design teams and have strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Managing and leading projects throughout the life cycle
• Mentoring Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators and Designers
• Overseeing workload, schedule, quality and morale
• Overseeing non-engineering aspects like permitting and real estate acquisition
• Leading QA/QC per HDR's QMS requirements
• Supporting client management and business development activities
• Coordinating hiring plans with HDR leadership

Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

7 years related experience

2 years project management experience
