Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join a growing Power Delivery team. The role is primarily in Boise, with other locations also listed, and requires strong substation design experience including one-line diagrams, grounding, and protection & controls.

You will lead scopes, schedules, and budgets, coordinate with multiple departments, and mentor junior staff as needed. A PE license and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• PE license is required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets; ensure schedules and budgets are met.
• Understand physical substation design including yard layouts, grounding, and protection & control.
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies).
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line teams.
• Mentor and supervise less-experienced EITs and Designers.
