Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join our growing Power Delivery team. This role supports scopes, schedules, and budgets while applying substation design knowledge to grounding, protection, and control systems for multiple sites.

Qualified candidates have a PE license, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with design software such as PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Prior experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.

Responsibilities

• Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
• Understand substation design including grounding, protection, and control systems.
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, etc.).
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and testing.
• Coordinate design activities with other departments.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers.
