Job summary

Dacon in Fresno, CA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects within the substation and power systems portfolio. You will work with Project Managers and Senior PMs, building foundational project management and estimating skills across the full lifecycle.

This role requires a degree in construction management or related field and at least two years in project coordination or construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required or 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, or field engineering.
• Familiarity with substation construction or medium- to high-voltage electrical systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with PM software (e.g., Procore, Primavera) is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
• Support project managers in coordinating subcontracts, purchase orders, and materials procurement.
• Monitor progress against milestones and report variances to the Project Manager.
• Prepare and distribute project documentation (minutes, RFIs, submittals, transmittals).
• Coordinate with field supervision, engineering, procurement, and client representatives.
• Support change orders tracking and logs.
• Assist with invoicing, cost coding, and review of labor/material costs.
