Job summary

DACON, the construction business unit of Dashiell Corporation, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects from pre-bid to closeout in Gonzales, LA. You will work with Project Managers and Senior PMs to develop foundational project management and estimating skills while contributing to project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, or field engineering.
• Familiarity with substation construction or MV/ HV electrical systems preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Procore or Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
• Support coordination of subcontracts, purchase orders, and materials procurement.
• Monitor progress and report variances to the Project Manager.
• Prepare meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and daily reports.
• Coordinate with field supervision, engineering, procurement, and client representatives.
• Assist with change orders and cost tracking for budgets.
• Contribute to project safety planning and documentation.
• Prepare status reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support estimating with quantity take-offs and bid packages.
