Job summary

DACON, the construction business unit of Dashiell Corporation, seeks a Project Manager for our Fresno, CA office to lead electrical construction projects within the substation and power systems portfolio. You will manage full lifecycle projects, estimate opportunities, and maintain client relationships, reporting to the Director of Project Management.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure safety and quality, and drive on-time, on-budget delivery while developing accurate estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in electrical construction, substation construction, or power systems.
• Experience managing projects from $2M to $20M+ in substation, transmission, or medium- to high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with project estimating for high-voltage or power construction projects preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for schedule development and management.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong financial acumen with experience managing project cost reports and forecasts.
• Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Valid driver’s license; regular travel to project sites required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of electrical construction projects for substation and medium- to high-voltage power system projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts; identify and resolve schedule and cost deviations.
• Serve as primary client contact for day-to-day communications and manage client relationships.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and periodic reviews with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Manage subcontracts, vendor agreements, and material procurement with the procurement team.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and project support staff.
• Administer change management including pricing and documentation of change orders.
• Review and approve invoices, cost reporting, and forecast financial performance.
• Coordinate with field supervision and engineering to resolve technical issues and maintain quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety plans and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present project status reports, schedules, and financial summaries for senior management and clients.
• Prepare and manage complete project estimates for bid opportunities including labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment costs.
• Lead pre-bid site walks and bid strategy discussions; coordinate subcontractor solicitations.
• Review and validate estimate assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications; participate in bid approval.
• Handoff from estimate to execution with clear cost assumptions and scope.
• Perform special projects as needed.
