Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to contribute to high-voltage projects from 12kV to 500kV. You will design, review, and deliver substation drawings and BOMs, interfacing with utilities and clients.

The role emphasizes physical design, grounding and protection studies, and travel to job sites. A PE or Engineer license is preferred, with opportunities for career growth and continuous development.

Qualifications

• Experience executing substation physical design projects.
• Excellent communication skills with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-section).
• Willingness to travel to project or client sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects.
• Read and design substation drawings such as one-line and three-line diagrams, plan-section drawings, foundations, grounding.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet project needs.
• Support leadership and mentorship within the team.
