Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to work on electric utility projects spanning 12kV to 500kV. The role emphasizes design of substation physical systems, including drawings, BOMs, and site visits, with remote-friendly options and in-person collaboration.

The candidate will read complex drawings, apply grounding and protection concepts, and engage with clients to ensure project success. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 2+ years substation physical design experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years in substation physical design.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical projects from drawings to construction.
• Read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-section).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical design.
• Attend site visits at customer locations to verify installations.
• Perform quality control checks on substation physical design documents.
