Leidos Inc. is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to design and manage substation projects from 12kV to 500kV for electric utilities. The role emphasizes reading and drafting electrical drawings, BOM creation, site visits, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The position supports hybrid work with in-person office days and on-site engagement, offering career growth through PE licensure, PMP development, and leadership pathways. Relocation/travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Senior/Lead: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related substation design experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Experience in executing substation physical projects.
• Read and design substation drawings such as one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundation, grounding.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical designs.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
• Meet deadlines under pressure; travel to project sites as needed.
• Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects.
