Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced designer to support high and extra high voltage substation projects. You will collaborate with engineers and designers to prepare General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views, BOMs, shielding, grounding, and related plans.

The role requires extensive 3D visualization, familiarity with Bentley Substation Design, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation. Hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days/week is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or higher, or a Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma with 3+ years drafting coursework.
• 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Familiar with Bentley Substation Design.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of computer.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and designers on high/extra high voltage substation design deliverables.
• Incorporate vendor information into design outputs.
• Conduct site walkdowns at client substation facilities.
