Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to join a project team of engineers and designers. You will prepare a range of substation drawings, from General Arrangements to Grounding Plans, while interpreting vendor data and ensuring compliance with client standards.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule and requires extensive drafting experience. We value the ability to visualize in 3D and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical training.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation drawings: General Arrangement, Equipment Plans, Section Views, BOM, Grounding Plans, and more.
• Interpret vendor information and incorporate into design deliverables.
• Perform client facility walkdowns.
• Apply client standards to the work.
