Job summary

Revamp Engineering, Inc. seeks an Engineer III – Substation Physical Design to lead physical design for renewable energy substations and interconnections.

The role requires independent judgment, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering actionable designs from client documents and interconnection requirements. This hands-on position emphasizes production-grade AutoCAD 3D drawings, grounding and protection layouts, and fast-paced development with evolving information.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in an engineering discipline; bachelor’s preferred.
• 5+ years in substation physical design.
• Advanced AutoCAD with 3D design experience.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage substation equipment and standards.
• Strong written and verbal client communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop physical substation design packages for renewable energy substations and interconnections.
• Support substation structural steel and foundation drawings with project engineers.
• Develop grounding, lightning protection, and conduit layouts as required.
• Translate interconnection requirements into actionable deliverables.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings and 3D substation models per Revamp standards.
• Coordinate with protection, civil, structural, and power systems teams.
• Review subconsultant deliverables for quality and schedule alignment.
• Mentor less experienced staff and ensure timely delivery.
