Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineering Intern, Protection and Controls, to join our Renewables Division. This internship is for Summer 2027.

You will work alongside experienced professionals on renewable substation projects, developing drawings, studies, and equipment specifications under supervision to gain practical, hands-on experience in protection and control systems. Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Develop project drawings: one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics.
• Create relay panel elevation and BOM.
• Develop control enclosure layout and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare equipment and relay panel wiring diagrams.
• Prepare communication schematics and connection details.
• Develop studies/calculations: load, transformer sizing, CT saturation, voltage drop.
• Review P&C deliverables and vendor submittals.
• Attend project meetings and assist Project Engineer with procurement/construction tasks.
