Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Manager, Substation Maintenance to lead maintenance, reliability, and compliance for substations across the generation fleet. The role manages a team of technicians and engineers, overseeing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, relays, and SCADA/RTU systems.

The position requires 9+ years in substation/ HV systems, 3+ years of people management, and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 9+ years in substation maintenance/high‑voltage systems or utility operations.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience.
• Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Experience managing budgets, contractors, and vendor relationships.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and performance of substation, collection, and transmission systems across the fleet.
• Develop and manage teams of Substation Maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors across sites.
• Own preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for substations; oversee BoP electrical maintenance.
• Improve maintenance processes, inspections, and condition monitoring with Engineering support.
• Plan and maintain substation maintenance schedules for each site; coordinate with contractors.
• Develop training programs for maintenance staff and ensure competency qualification.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit-ready documentation.
