Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Substation Maintenance Specialist II to perform complex maintenance and inspections on substation and collection system components across North America. The role emphasizes safety, diagnostic testing, and coordination with contractors.

You will interpret relay and control drawings, perform high voltage switching, and mentor junior technicians while traveling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ work experience in Operations and/or Maintenance in power generation, transmission or distribution.
• Must interpret substation one lines and relay/control drawings; relaying skills with SEL/GE or similar relays.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform routine and complex substation inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Write and execute switching orders and apply clearance and grounding procedures.
• Support compliance reporting and review maintenance/Test documentation.
• Provide hands-on training and guidance to S3 technicians.
• Travel up to 30% to North American sites as needed.
