RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Substation Maintenance Specialist I to join our Operations & Maintenance team supporting wind, solar and transmission projects. This full-time, permanent role involves routine inspections, maintenance and repair of substation equipment, with emphasis on safety, compliance and effective documentation.

The ideal candidate will perform high-voltage switching under guidance, work with test tools such as IR cameras and battery testers, and travel up to 30% to sites

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer 2- or 4-year technical degree in engineering, physics, power, or closely related field.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on substation and collection system equipment.
• Assist with high-voltage switching and grounding under guidance following NFPA 70E.
• Collect readings with standard test equipment and document results.
• Maintain accurate records for compliance programs including NERC.
• Travel up to 30% to North American sites.
