Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited electrical testing and engineering organization serving North America. The Field Technician II will perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with increasing independence, emphasizing safety and quality.

Responsibilities include performing tests on high/medium/low voltage equipment, troubleshooting with schematics, and documenting work while collaborating with engineers and senior technicians.

Qualifications

• Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen as this is a safety sensitive position.
• A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
• Willing to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and use PPE in substation environments.
• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, batteries and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Document testing and maintenance per project requirements; collaborate with engineers and senior technicians.
