Job summary

WHC Energy Services, LLC seeks a Substation Construction Manager to oversee on-site construction of substation projects across multiple sites. You will lead civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical work, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The role includes frequent travel (approximately 50%–75%) for site, client meetings, and commissioning support. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in substation or power construction management, deep knowledge of HV/MV/LV, and a proven track

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, equivalent experience considered.
7+ years of progressive experience in substation or power construction management.
Strong knowledge of substation systems (HV/MV/LV) and related civil works, grounding, and protection systems.
Proven track record delivering complex power projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC, OSHA standards.
Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.
Proficient with project management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site construction management of all substation projects (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
Oversee daily operations to meet schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement and PM teams to align execution with requirements.
Supervise field staff and subcontractors, establishing performance expectations and safety culture.
Maintain project records, reports, and closeout documentation.
