Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is hiring an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician to join our field team. You will terminate, splice, test, and document fiber optic runs within customer networks, traveling to sites across North America as needed.

Candidates should have at least five years of fiber optic experience, familiarity with OTDRs and EXFO equipment, and strong safety and communication skills. This full-time role offers competitive pay and industry certifications incentives.

Qualifications

• Associates or Technical Degree preferred.
• CWDM and DWDM experience preferred.
• Experience in carrier technologies a plus.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be highly organized and have strong work ethic, punctuality and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, designs and work scopes.
• Learn and adhere to all safety standards; travel as required.
