Electric Power Systems (EPS) in Phoenix seeks an experienced Substation Fiber Technician to terminate, splice, document, and test fiber optic lines within customer networks. Travel to sites is required; five years of fiber experience and EXFO equipment familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of fiber splicing and testing experience.
• Current fiber optic certifications preferred.
• Ability to travel to customer locations.
• Associates orTechnical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Terminate, splice, bond/ground and test fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Install fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Read blueprints, designs and work scopes.
• Adhere to all safety standards.
• Troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently.
