Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician for immediate full-time work. You will terminate, splice, document and test fiber optic lines in a customer network, with travel required and current fiber certifications preferred.

Responsibilities include OTDR testing, installation of fiber equipment, and adherence to safety and blueprints. Prior experience with EXFO gear and strong teamwork are valued as part of our safety-focused, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience and experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Working knowledge of fiber optics.
• Basic knowledge of networking.
• Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment.
• Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures.
• Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently.
