Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Substation Fiber Technician for full-time work in Overland, MO. The role involves terminating, splicing, documenting and testing fiber optic lines within client networks, with travel required and current fiber certifications preferred.

Five years of experience and familiarity with EXFO equipment are valued. EPS emphasizes safety, professional development and competitive benefits across medical, retirement, and family protections.

Qualifikationen

• Associates or Technical Degree preferred.
• CWDM and DWDM experience preferred.
• Experience in carrier technologies a plus.
• Positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be highly organized.
• Must display strong work ethic, punctuality and attendance.

Aufgaben

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch and panels.
• Working knowledge of fiber optics.
• Basic knowledge of networking.
• Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment.
• Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures.
• Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently.
• Learn and adhere to all safety standards.
• Must be able to read and understand blue prints, designs and work scopes.
• 5 years previous experience.
