Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician for full-time work. The role involves terminating, splicing, documenting and testing fiber optic lines within customer networks. Five years of experience and familiarity with EXFO fiber equipment are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical degree preferred.
• Experience with CWDM/DWDM is advantageous.
• Familiarity with carrier technologies is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and reliability required.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light sources and meters.
• Terminate, splice, bond/ground and test fiber optic equipment to standards.
• Install fiber optic equipment and patch panels.
• Read blueprints, designs and work scopes accurately.
• Maintain safety standards and travel as needed.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting of damaged fiber.
