Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager - Substation to lead design teams and provide engineering expertise across the project lifecycle for high‑voltage substations. You will oversee planning, design, construction support and closeout, supervise engineers and designers, ensure NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI compliance, and coordinate with clients and partners.

Requirements include a ABET‑accredited degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering, a P.E.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
• P.E. license is required.
• Expert understanding of high voltage substation components.
• Experience in personnel management.
• 10+ years in electric utility industry for high voltage substation projects.
• Strong technical expertise across structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
• Knowledge of industry software packages.
• Knowledge of project controls and estimates processes.
• Experience supporting external customers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC standards and regulations.
• Team player with the ability to work independently in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion including planning, design, construction support and closeout.
• Supervise engineers, designers, and support staff with guidance and performance evaluations.
• Evaluate and monitor engineering contractors and consultants.
• Assist in selection and coaching of direct reports to build effective teams.
• Assign tasks to project design team based on project needs.
• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee quality control procedures to uphold standards.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
