Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. You will perform physical substation, protection, and control engineering for 12 kV through 500 kV projects, ranging from distribution upgrades to large transmission substations.

You will collaborate with civil, networks, and transmission teams to deliver safe, reliable power infrastructure.A BS in engineering and a PE license are required, with prior power-sector project experience.

Qualifications

• Requires PE license or license recognized by licensing board for position location.
• Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
• Proficiency with MS Office and design software including CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
• Understand substation design including grounding, protection, and control building layouts.
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission teams.
• Mentor junior EITs and Designers and supervise others as needed.
