Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead the design and execution of power transmission projects in our Spokane, WA office. You will coordinate the design team, ensure code compliance, and manage document delivery across disciplines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, a PE license, and experience in the Power Market Sector. Proficiency with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit is expected. This is an on-site role within HDR's employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board is required.
• Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit) is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the power design team through schematic design development and contract document phase.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review project documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit project specifications.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, COs, and incorporate changes.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others.
