Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for Substations. The role involves leading substation design and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams on projects up to 765kV, with responsibilities spanning protection, control, physical layouts, and BOMs.

The engineer will mentor junior staff and liaise with clients and vendors. The position offers hybrid work options, relocation eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package as part of an employee-owned company with a strong safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead on substation projects.
• Support substation projects up to 765kV in engineering, EPC.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables and diagrams.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and subcontractors; manage budgets/schedules.
