Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on substation design. The role involves leading technical work, coordinating with clients and vendors, and guiding a diverse team on multi-site substations up to high voltages.

Strong design and protection/control experience are essential, with opportunities for travel and business development involvement. You will contribute to engineering, procurement and construction activities, develop complex design deliverables, and mentor less

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead substation projects as Technical Specialist or Project Lead.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables (relays, diagrams, wiring).
• Prepare BOMs and electrical equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Travel to project sites or offices for design reviews and field verifications.
