Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead substation design projects, including protection and control, physical layouts, and construction-ready deliverables. The role involves coordinating with clients and teams, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business development. Hybrid work options offered.

Minimum 11 years in engineering with a bachelor's degree is required; PE license is preferred. Pre-employment checks may be required, and relocation is eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR).

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination and guidance on substation projects.
• Support engineering detailed design and EPC activities.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables (relays, schematics, diagrams).
• Prepare physical design deliverables (yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection).
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams; manage budgets and schedules.
