Job summary

VHB is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead for its Energy Evolution Practice. The role supports transmission/distribution substations and integrated teams across disciplines, combining design, permitting, and project delivery in a hybrid work environment.

You will lead client relations, drive business development, mentor staff, review drawings and studies (one-line diagrams, conduit sizing, grounding, lightning), and oversee execution from initiation to closeout, with a focus on safety and

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; MS is a plus.
11+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
5+ years in electrical substation area preferred.
Experience with power systems design and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the electrical engineering service supporting substations.
Engage in business development and client relations.
Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and serve as client-facing contact.
Develop/review drawings, material lists, calculations, and specs (one-line diagrams, conduit sizing, layouts, grounding, etc.).
Support construction through site visits and RFIs/submittal reviews.
Monitor and plan financial performance.
Build a team and mentor staff to develop skills and goals.
