Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead with extensive substation experience to join our Energy Evolution Practice.

This hybrid role will lead projects, mentor staff, and collaborate across engineering, planning, and regulatory groups on energy project design and delivery. The candidate should have a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in substations, strong client relationships, and market connectivity.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or MS preferred.
• 8+ years of experience required, 5+ in substations is a plus.
• Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen is a plus.
• Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD software is a plus.
• Familiarity with NEC and NESC is expected.
• Experience in the northeastern U.S. is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the electrical engineering service for substations.
• Engage in business development and client relations.
• Manage electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline substation teams and be the client-facing contact.
• Develop and review drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Support construction through site visits and RFIs.
