Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead focused on substations to join our Energy Evolution Practice.

The role supports design, permitting, and delivery across multiple offices with hybrid work. You will lead projects, develop technical drawings, mentor staff, and build client relationships, while coordinating with civil, structural, environmental, and regulatory teams to advance transmission and distribution projects in the Northeast and beyond.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; 8+ years experience.
• 5+ years experience in electrical substation work a plus.
• Familiarity with NEC/NESC.
• Experience with project management and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the electrical engineering service for substations.
• Engage in business development and client relations.
• Manage physical electrical aspects from initiation to closeout.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and act as client contact.
• Develop drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Support construction through site visits and RFIs.
• Monitor project financial performance.
• Mentor staff and build the team.
