Job summary

VHB in Orlando is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead for the Energy Evolution Practice. This role focuses on physical electrical aspects of substations, design through delivery, and collaboration with civil, structural, environmental, planning, and regulatory groups.

You will lead projects, develop drawings, manage client relations, and mentor staff while supporting business development. The position offers a hybrid, U.S. office environment with meaningful community impact.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS a plus.
• 11+ years experience required.
• 5+ years in electrical substation area a plus.
• Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen.
• Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD software a plus.
• Familiarity with NEC and NESC.
• Experience working in the northeastern U.S. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow electrical engineering services for transmission/distribution substations.
• Engage in business development and client relations.
• Manage physical electrical aspects of projects from initiation to closeout.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary substation teams and client-facing contact.
• Develop/review drawings, material lists, calculations, and specs.
• Support construction Phase via site visits and RFIs/submittals.
• Monitor and project financial performance.
• Build and mentor staff to develop skills and goals.
