Job summary

VHB is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead focused on substations to join our Energy Engineering practice. You will lead design, permitting, and delivery on transmission/distribution substations, while mentoring staff and growing client relationships.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in electrical engineering with substation experience and familiarity with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen, MicroStation and AutoCAD. Hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering; MS a plus.
8+ years experience in electrical engineering.
5+ years in electrical substation area a plus.
Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen a plus.
Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD software a plus.
Familiarity with NEC/NESC; NE region preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow electrical engineering services for substations.
Engage in business development and client relations.
Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and serve as client-facing contact.
Develop/review drawings, calculations, and specs (one-lines, layouts, voltage drop, etc.).
Support construction through site visits and RFIs/submittals.
Monitor and manage project financials.
Mentor staff and develop team skills.
