Job summary

VHB seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer Lead to join our Energy Evolution Practice in a hybrid role across any VHB office. This senior position focuses on physical electrical design for substations, project leadership, and client development in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You will mentor staff, manage substation capital projects from inception through closeout, review drawings and calculations, and contribute to business growth with market connectivity and trusted

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field); MS a plus.
• 11+ years of experience required.
• 5+ years in electrical substation area preferred.
• Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen a plus.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD a plus.
• Familiarity with NEC and NESC.
• Experience in Northeastern U.S. highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow electrical engineering services for transmission/distribution substations.
• Engage in business development and client relations.
• Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as client-facing electrical contact.
• Develop/review drawings, material lists, calculations, reports, and specs.
• Support construction phase with site visits and RFIs/reviews.
• Monitor and manage project financial performance.
• Mentor staff and build the team.
