Job summary

Ameren Corporation is seeking an Engineer in Illinois to provide technical support to substation maintenance teams, assist with outage restoration, and coordinate PM tasks for reliability improvements.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with 2+ years in utilities preferred; PE license or pursuit is a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Access and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer License or active commitment to obtain one preferred.
• Two or more years of utility experience with substation equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to substation outages to assist restoration as necessary.
• Coordinate testing program to complete PM tasks as required by internal and external requirements.
• Provide support to substation maintenance personnel for commissioning and checkout of new substation equipment.
• Prepare minor design changes to restore equipment to service.
• Prepare failure reports on substation equipment.
• Analyze equipment condition, health, and performance information to identify asset issues, trends, and opportunities.
• Support integration of monitoring-device data into asset performance management tools.
