Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our power delivery team in Illinois. The role focuses on developing conceptual designs for new facilities, performing load forecasts, and conducting power flow and reliability studies to ensure a robust electric distribution system.

The successful candidate will evaluate DER interconnections, apply Synergi and related tools, and collaborate with Field Engineering and other departments. FE certification or P.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering required (power emphasis).
• FE certification or PE registration preferred.
• Experience in power system analysis or related fields preferred.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design for new facilities and issue engineering documents.
• Establish expectations for safety performance across teams.
• Perform load analysis forecasting for the system.
• Conduct power flow and reliability studies for the distribution system.
• Evaluate interconnections for solar, wind, storage and other DER.
• Maintain expertise in power systems analysis using Synergi and related tools.
• Support economic analyses and response to contingency conditions.
• Prepare engineering reports and respond to ICC data requests.
