Job summary

Ameren Illinois seeks an Electrical Engineer specialized in power systems to join the subtransmission and DER integration efforts. You will develop conceptual designs for facilities, perform load and DER forecasts, and conduct power flow analyses.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Electrical Engineering with FE certification or PE registration and experience with PSSE/PSCAD. Collaboration across design, construction and operations is essential and a robust benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; power emphasis preferred.
• FE certification or PE registration preferred.
• Experience in power system analysis and with PSSE/PSCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs for new facilities and initiate design/construction.
• Prepare load and DER forecasts and perform power flow/reliability studies.
• Develop power systems analysis expertise using PSSE and related tools.
• Evaluate subtransmission adequacy and DER hosting capacity.
• Support economic analyses for project alternatives including NWA.
• Emergency call-out for storm restoration and contingency response.
• Prepare engineering reports and respond to ICC data requests.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering and other departments on joint studies.
