Job summary

GFT is actively seeking experienced Substation Engineers (Electrical) to join our Power Group. The role offers hybrid work in various locations and, for the right candidate, remote options.

You will lead or support utility substation projects from 34.5kV to 500kV and build client relationships in the Power & Utility sector. Minimum 4+ years in design, engineering, and project management within power/utility, with proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation/Inventor and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer License or on the path to licensure.
• 4+ years in design, engineering and PM in power/utility.
• Consulting engineering experience preferred.
• Proficient with project management software for scope/schedule/budget.
• HV substation and distribution design experience.
• Commitment to improving business performance and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layout drawings including plans/elevations, grounding, raceways, and cable schedules.
• Create substation one lines, power systems, SCADA and relay layouts.
• Prepare calculations and client-facing reports.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment and construction.
• Collaborate to pursue regional and national substation projects.
• Develop relationships with clients across disciplines and offices.
• Contribute to proposals, bids, and presentations.
