Quanta Services is seeking a Design Engineer - Substation to perform substation design assignments, including physical layout, grounding, and protection & control systems, while ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards. The role reports to a Supervising Engineer as part of a substation design team across the QISG platform.

There are four bands; an employee advances as experience and mastery grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the FE exam is highly desirable; required for Design Engineer 4 band.
• Experience in substation components is preferred.
• No utility-industry experience required for entry level positions.

Responsabilités

• Design physical substation components and layouts, grounding, and protection systems.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Create design drawings, calculations, and bills of material.
• Perform engineering calculations including voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain project documentation and support calculations.
• Identify problems and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Travel up to 10–25% as required by projects.
