Job summary

Quanta Services (QISG) seeks a Design Engineer I to perform substation design assignments, including physical layout and protection & control systems, collaborating with engineers and field personnel. The role reports to a Supervising Engineer on a substation design team across the QISG platform.

Four bands exist for progression. The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; passing the FE exam is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments as needed.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components, including yard layouts, grounding, and protection schemes.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Produce design drawings, calculations, and BOMs from engineering documents.
