Job summary

Exelon is seeking a designer for substation and transmission projects focusing on protection and controls. Responsibilities include reviewing customer plans, costing, permitting, and field coordination. CAD tools and utility standards knowledge are essential.

The role involves travel for field surveys, overtime, and coordination with various teams to ensure project prerequisites are met. A high school diploma and related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of algebra, trigonometry and mechanical drawing for construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; learn utility design standards and protection/control concepts.
• Experience with utility processes, industry standards and codes; CAD experience required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans of proposed construction to assess interference with existing facilities.
• Determines specifications, materials, costs, permitting, and ROW requirements; documents prerequisites for construction.
• Performs field visits, coordinates job planning with field staff, and tracks approvals for changes.
